What Permissions Are Required?
Apps that use certain functions of your mobile device require permission. The Route 66 Ultimate Guide app requests permissions only for functions required to use the app.
DEVICE LOCATION
For features such as travel directions, navigation, Passport stamps, and signing virtual guestbooks, the app accesses your location via GPS.
TAKE PHOTOS & VIDEO
The app requires permission to use your device’s camera in order to scan QR codes at Points-of-Interest, for example.
NOTE: The app doesn’t actually take photos or video, but this is the general permission for use of the camera for other purposes, such as scanning QR codes.
ACCESS MEDIA & FILES ON YOUR DEVICE
This permission is actually for storing data on your device. In order to store your user account, trip information, favorites, and other data, the app requires permission to access the storage on your device.
